CIRI is one of 12 Alaska-based regional corporations established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 to benefit Alaska Natives who had ties to the Cook Inlet region. The Anchorage, Alaska-based company is owned by more than 7,200 Alaska Native shareholders of Athabascan and Southeast Indian, Inupiat and Yup’ik Eskimo, Alutiiq and Aleut descent. Its interests extend across Alaska, the United States and abroad.
CIRI’s diverse portfolio includes tourism, real estate, wireless communications, heavy construction and traditional and alternative energy. CIRI has a broad spectrum of energy project and technology interests, including:
- More than 30 years experience with Cook Inlet basin oil and
gas projects - Fifty percent owner of two of Alaska’s largest, most respected
oilfield service companies - Southcentral Alaska’s largest private landowner with substantial
known coal reserves - Developing alternative energy projects, including Alaska’s first commercial-scale wind farm on Fire Island.
